The Kings Theatre in Edinburgh celebrated 100 years of performances in 2006 and has undergone a major renovation during this year.
The King's houses visits from the Royal National Theatre and other major touring drama productions as well as being home to Edinburgh's annual pantomime and the local amateur societies' productions.
The King's Theatre, Edinburgh was built in 1905 by Edinburgh builder, William Stewart Cruikshank. Andrew Carnegie laid the foundation stone and the Theatre was opened in 1906 with a performance of Cinderella and managed by A Stewart Cruikshank. So you have the opportunity to enjoy pantomine at its finest 100 years later!
